Infinite released its Japanese debut single BTD (Before The Dawn) on November 19. Its title track BTD is written by Sweet Tune, who rose to fame by producing Kara’s album. Infinite’s new album contains the Japanese version of BTD and the acoustic Korean version of Can You Smile.
Infinite held a press conference on November 18, and a swarm of reporters from Japanese major news outlets, including Sankei, Nican, and Daily Sports, competed to get a good view of the group. The group also held an event to mark the release of the album in Kanagawa Prefecture, amid more than 10,000 Japanese fans who packed the venue.
BTD claimed the top spot of music.jp’s K-pop chart, one of the largest Japanese music websites, on the very day of its release. 70,000 pre-ordered copies were sold out, proving that Infinite fan base continues to grow.
A representative of the group’s agency said, “I think Infinite’s heartfelt efforts to share feelings with Japanese fans through continuing promotional activities prior to its official debut helped to secure its solid Japanese fan base. We thank fans for their support and affection and we’ll do our best to promote future activities.”
Infinite is planning to focus on various promotional events to meet Japanese fans until November 26.
