[NEWS] Viewers praise L’s acting abilities on ‘Shut Up Flower Boy Band’

L of boy group INFINITE is captivating his TV audience.

L is showcasing his natural acting abilities in his current tvN drama, ‘Shut Up Flower Boy Band(written by Seo Yoon Hee, directed by Lee Kwon). On the February 14th episode, L put on a very convincing performance. On the episode, L hurt his hand while running to attend a rock festival as he was almost hit by the car driving a singer, Kim Yerim. Despite his bloody hand, he made his best effort to put on a passionate performance on stage for the audience.

However, during the middle of the performance, he was stopped by the band’s leader who had seen his bloody hand and L had no choice but to walk off the stage that had been prepared in memory of their deceased friend, Byung Hee (Lee Minki).

After the show, L runs into Kim Yerim and it seems as though he is trying to suppress his anger and frustration that surface upon seeing her. Although she offers him an apology, he is extremely cold to her and brushes past her.

With his cold stare and natural acting abilities, L properly conveys the personality of his character, Lee Hyun Soo. His emotions were effectively delivered, and viewers who could sense his sincerity praised his acting skills. At the time the scene was being filmed, the staff members were blown away with his ability to focus.

“I think I started showing you Hyun Soo’s true colors from the 6th episode,” he said. “I studied up on a lot of things in order to shoot scenes on stage. Please look forward the story as it continues to unfold.”

Meanwhile, ‘Shut Up Flower Boy Band’s is 16-episode mini series about the members of a high school rock band and their experiences with love and friendship. It airs every Monday and Tuesday at 11:00PM KST.

[NEWS] BEAST’s Yong Jun Hyung and Infinite’s L to Cameo on SBS “Salamander Guru and the Shadows”

BEAST’s Yong Jun Hyung and Infinite’s L will make cameo appearances on the February 10 episode of SBS sitcom “Salamander Guru and the Shadows.” They will appear as part of a group of thieves that include SHINee’s Minho.

Yong Jun Hyung will play the role of “Joker” while L will appear as “L” on the show. They team up with “Shadow,” the old nickname of Min Hyuk (Minho’s role), and breaks into a Chaebol’s art piece collection to steal some of their expensive art works.

“It was like seeing flowers fall from the sky. These amazing young men have the looks, great singing abilities, and can even act well,” the production crew said.

The episode starring Yong Jun Hyung and L will air on February 10. Make sure you catch it to find out how they successfully complete their mission!

[NEWS] tvN reveals first episode preview for "Shut Up! Flower Band"

 Korean TV channel tvN has revealed a short preview of the first episode for their upcoming drama series "Shut Up! Flower Band". Featuring the band's members, as well as the school they're going to, the preview reveals hints of the band's status among their fellow students and their fans during gigs.

As earlier announced after the release of "Flower Boy Ramyun Shop", more "Flower Boy" themed dramas are in the works. "Shut Up! Flower Band" is the second installment in the planned series of youth-targeted dramas, branded under the "Oh! Boy Project" name. It features Bang Sungjoon, Infinite's L, model Lee Hyunjae, and more. All actors were revealed to take up the roles of rock band members, with Lee Hyunjae being the band's drummer, much to his real life role in rock band MATE. Infinite's L will take on the role as the band's guitarist, while Bang Sungjoon was casted as the vocalist. More cast members are set to be revealed later on.

tvN is set to start airing "Shut Up! Flower Band" on January 30th.

[NEWS] INFINITE’s L: “I am not a flower boy”

 

INFINITE’s L has been causing quite the stir with his recent statement, “I don’t think I’m a flower boy.”

On January 25th, L attended the press conference for his new tvN drama, ‘Shut Up Flower Boy Band‘, at the CGV Cheongdam Cine City. During the conference, reporters asked L for his thoughts on his looks.

L laughed as he replied, “All of my fellow cast members are so handsome and beautiful that I don’t consider myself to be a flower boy.”

The answer raised some eyebrows, as L is known to be the ‘visual member’ of INFINITE. That reputation will live on through tvN’s ‘Shut Up Flower Boy Band’, where L plays an extremely talented guitarist in the fictional pretty-boy band, ‘Eye Candy’.
L shyly confessed, “To be honest, shooting the scene was my first time playing an electric guitar.” He continued, “I will practice hard to show a more professional side for the drama” and “I will deliver a guitarist with a strong sense of character.”
This will be L’s first time acting in his home country (he previously made his acting debut in a Japanese production), and therefore, L expressed that he’s really anxious about the results.
L said, “The INFINITE members were all very concerned for me and asked me, ‘Do you think you can do it?’”
He continued, “The hyungs that I am working with in the drama have been a big help to me. I want to show a cool side of myself by working hard on my acting.”
L also revealed his thoughts about working with ‘Superstar K3’ contestant Kim Ye Rim. “First of all, I have never met Kim Ye Rim before. I am really curious though.” L continued with a laugh, “I’m looking forward to meeting her. I wonder what her personality is like, what she would say, and how she is going to approach me.”
In the drama, L will be involved in a love triangle with Yoo Min Kyu and Kim Ye Rim’s characters.
‘Shut Up Flower Boy Band’ will be about a high school rock band called Eye Candy, who are comprised of flower boys with rough personalities.  It is a passionate drama about youths’ experience with love, friendship and music; it will air its first episode on January 30th.

[NEWS] Dongwoo’s mother reveals Dongwoo’s nude baby photo.

On the January 14th episode of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Birth Of A Family‘, the mothers of L and Dongwoo paid a visit to INFINITE‘s dormitory.

L and Dongwoo‘s mother visited the dorm to cook traditional ‘Tteokguk / rice cake soup’ for the boys in celebration of Korean New Year’s. Dongwoo who is the ‘maknae’ of his family showed his mom some ‘aegyo‘ by giving her kisses on the cheek as soon as he laid eyes on her, while L who is the eldest in the family remained quiet and reserved.

While L’s mother brought a letter which made L cry, Dongwoo’s mother brought a nude baby photo of Dongwoo which embarrassed Dongwoo and brough a smile to the faces of his fellow INFINITE members.

INFINITE member L shed some emotional tears after reading a letter from his mother.
During a recording for an episode of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Birth Of A Family‘, L who saw his mother for the first time in a long while left everyone on the filming set in tears.

L’s mother had come to the INFINITE dormitory along with Dongwoo‘s mother to cook traditional ‘rice cake soup’ for the boys in celebration of New Year’s.

But the way Dongwoo and L reacted when their mothers walked in the door was completely different.
Dongwoo who is the ‘maknae of his family showed his mom some ‘aegyo‘ by giving her kisses on the cheek as soon as he laid eyes on her, while L who is the eldest in the family remained quiet and reserved.

L who normally does not express his inner emotions maintained his distance, so much to the point that the mother who was expecting a warm welcome looked very obviously hurt and disappointed.
But once he read the letter that his mom wrote for him, L suddenly burst into hot tears and his mother and his members who were watching also began tearing, as well as each of the staff members on set.
This episode of ‘Birth Of A Family’ airs on January 14th at 5:05PM KST.

[NEWS] ‘Shut Up Flower Boy Band’ releases character cuts of INFINITE’s L

INFINITE‘s L has been cast in tvN‘s new flower boy-themed drama, ‘Shut Up Flower Boy Band‘, and character cuts of his new image were released today!

L’s always been known for his chic look, so pulling off his character (who has the nickname ‘ice prince’) was no problem at all. Dressed in black and white, he’s seen posing confidently with a guitar, giving the aura of a successful band leader.

Netizens commented, “L, he is the leader of band fashion,” and “Can’t wait to see him act!”
L stated, “Every moment I’m on set with the hyungs is really fun. I’ve been practicing the guitar diligently since being cast for the role so I hope that our fans can look forward to the drama.”

‘Shut up Flower Boy Band’ will air on January 30th.

[NEWS] Woollim Entertainment assures fans that INFINITE’s L is alright

 

On December 31st, INFINITE‘s L was seen being helped up by his fellow members after falling on stage during the ’2011 MBC Gayo Daejaejun’.

A day later, L’s agency Woollim Entertainment assured concerned fans that “L fell in the middle of the extended stage… Although it could have been a dangerous situation, he did not suffer any injuries. There is no need to worry.”

With it being the first day of the new year in Korea, L and the other members of INFINITE will be taking a much needed break for the first time in a long while. Their break won’t last too long, however, as the boys will have to start preparing for their first solo concert in February. L will also be filming for his new drama.

[NEWS] INFINITE’s L to star in new drama, ‘Shut Up Flower Boy Band’

INFINITE‘s L will make his acting debut in a new drama, ‘Shut Up Flower Boy Band‘.

The drama will air on cable channel tvN after the completion of ‘Flower Boy Ramyun Shop‘.

As the cable channel seems to be using the idea of ‘flower boys’ in their recent dramas, ‘Shut Up Flower Boy Band’ will tell a story of a rock band with a more rugged style. A drama representative stated, “This drama will become a drama with a different flower boy atmosphere than the one shown in ‘Flower Boy Ramyun Shop’. It will show the appeal of a rock band of young boys.”

Along with INFINITE’s L, the cast also includes boys who auditioned in tvN’s audition program, ‘Oh Boy Project‘.

The drama will air its pilot episode on January 30th. But check out the trailer in the meantime!

[NEWS] INFINITE to appear in W Korea magazine

INFINITE, who has experienced a tremendous surge in popularity lately will be featured in an upcoming issue of W Korea magazine.

On December 10th, the official twitter account for W Korea shared a preview of the upcoming pictorial spread with a photo of MyungSoo and SungYeol.

Additionally, they shared that the editor was quite impressed with the boys and that the full spread should be released in early 2012.
